I’m not sure if Transformers counts as recycling, but the largest recycler and waste company in North America, Waste Management, appears in the summer blockbuster Transformers: Dark of the Moon. OK, it’s probably not an Oscar contender, but Waste Management is in the middle of the action, popping out at the audience from the 3D screen.
The shape-shifting Decepticons are engaged in a battle to takeover planet Earth, and one of their most potent weapons is their ability to transform their appearance into that of any person or object that will give them an advantage — including, in one scene, scanning a WM collection truck for transformation. WM trucks and bins — with the distinctive green and gold logo front-and-center — also appear throughout the movie, especially in the final battle scene shot in Chicago.
