Convenience just got a little more convenient–at least for those living in the Pittsburgh area. Now when you stop by a 7-Eleven Handee Mart for a can or bottle of soda, you can also take care of your recycling at a PepsiCo Dream Machine kiosk. So clean out that backseat floorboard.
PepsiCo announced the partnership with 7-Eleven Handee Mart Tuesday at a Cranberry Township event to kick off the recycling initiative. The Dream Machine is now available at more than 20 7-Eleven Handee Mart locations in Pittsburgh, with plans to add more machines later this year.
The Dream Machine allows consumers to quickly recycle aluminum cans and plastic bottles through a computerized kiosk. Users then receive immediate rewards for that recycling by getting points that can be redeemed for real-world items like gift certificates and coupons.
But the Dream Machine doesn’t stop there. By recycling at a Dream Machine, PepsiCo will make a donation to the Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for Veterans with Disabilities, a program that helps veterans learn to start their own businesses.
The Dream Machine recycling initiative, created by PepsiCo in partnership with Waste Management, Greenopolis and Keep America Beautiful, is introducing thousands of recycling kiosks and bins at popular public locations across North America.
